Emerging artists in lights

CitiPower is helping four young Melbourne artists to revitalise the inner city and showcase emerging artists by sponsoring their Centre Place Artists Project.
Visual artists Richard Brownfield, Richard Butler Bowden, Andrew Macdonald and Lyndal Walker have been working for two years on the project ‑ titled 'CityLights'‑ which displays works of art in four 1.5m x 1.2m light boxes in Centre Place Arcade off Flinders Lane.
Five hundred guests attended the launch of CityLights to coincide with the beginning of the two‑month‑long Melbourne Fringe Festival for art, music, theatre and dance.
CitiPower installed cabling and is supplying power to the four boxes, as well as a smaller information/sponsor box, for a year, after which the project will be reviewed.
