Whether highlighting the contentious multicultural terrain between indigenous and non-indigenous artistic practice or revealing the private practices of boozey nights out, the message is confident, complex and imbued with the right amount of jest. Grogan's works make the private public.
You look terrific babe was hand painted by Lucas in three 13 hour days over the Easter break, commissioned by Citylights Projects for Movida. The brief was completely open - Lucas' combination of tactile, inviting (and sometimes caustic) text and references to Moorish pattern making was seen as an ideal but unexpected fit for Movida and Hosier Lane.
