Retali8 will be the second group show for these 8 punch-packing Melbourne based female artists.

Retali8 will look at the work of the Fatal Eight girls one year on, this time tackling the theme of ‘conflict’ in their work, both visually and metaphorically.

Hosted by the internationally acclaimed Citylights and the best kept secret gallery in Melbourne Hushhush, both in one of the city’s most vibrant laneways, Hosier Lane.

This time the 8 will be mixing traditional exhibiting (gallery-style) with non-traditional means (light boxes on the street) and sparking the buzz of the street by holding the opening in the laneway with tunes from one of the city’s hottest female dj’s.

Each artist has a bold and unique approach to their work, with mediums including stencils, free-hand painting and illustration, found objects, wall-paintings, paste-ups, stickers, badges, aerosol art, ink, tapestry and performance.

Retali8 will showcase a strong range of styles uniting these 8 artists under their common experience of urban Melbourne as a battleground.
